Winter 1998-99 - Last Days of RWA?

Dr. Love's business cardDoctor Love travelled with the RWA to the Newfoundland Club in Cambridge for a show that rivaled most in terms of pathetic crowd turn-out and enthusiasm ... to Assumption Catholic High School in, uh, Burlington?, and the RWA's "Toronto Takeover" at the G-Spot ... another show that was a passable success. Not a lot of action shots from these shows, I'm afraid, but for the RWA fans out there (both of you), here are some pics of your favorites. Okay, here are some pics of RWA wrestlers.

November 22, 1998: Newfoundland Club, Cambridge, Ontario

J.Q. Publik scans the Cambridge horizon for inspiration. Kwan Chang strikes a scary pose. L'artiste does le stretch on le floor. Das right! RWA's self-proclaimed heel ref, The Weasel Hollywood Hunks vs. Mayhem Patrol... ...Mayhem Patrol vs. Hunks. "Real Deal" Magnus Von Steel, prior to ... ... breaking the ribs of The Tyrant. Big muscles, yes?

Assumption Attack, Assumption Catholic School... when did this happen? Where? I forget. Big crowd, though.

Really big (click it, dummy!) wide shot of the battle royal. The high school brats were really into the rasslin' action of the RWA. The Tyrant after being eliminated. (His ribs are sore from Magnus breaking them, remember? Poor guy.)

December 1, 1998: G-Spot Night Club, Toronto Ontario: "Toronto Takeover"
Doctor Love, not known for his abundance of foresight, only takes two pictures on this night. Both of the same guy. You'll have to imagine a dance club where the wrestling ring doesn't fit, and not many people show up. Helluva light show, though. Doctor Love did a fine job on the mic. But you'll never see it. Oh, well.

The Tyrant, ribs still aching, and fighting with a busted hand, experiences a First Blood match for the first time. By the looks of things, he lost. He wanted this picture for his mom. Hi, Tyrant's mom! Didn't Tyrant's mom tell him not to run with scissors? Sure, it's all fun and games 'til someone loses an eye. Then it's fun and games with a blind guy.
