October 1996 interview with Gene Ween, plus Ween
concert photos from October 23, 1996 at the Phoenix Concert Theatre,
Toronto.

| November 25 2001 -- Toronto --
Whoo! The concert depicted in the photos below is now available,
for a limited time, on CD from the fine folks at Chocodog.
It's a steaming batch of goodness recorded live at Toronto's Phoenix
Concert Theatre on October 23, 1996. I guess I didn't appreciate it fully
at the time, but the Fall '96 tour with the Shitcreek Boys was something
special, and the Ween folks say they played some songs that night that
haven't been done before or since. Order your copy, then come on back and
fill up your screen with images from that night. Other neato Ween stuff
below the pics. (I've still got the negs for these and a couple more, if anyone has any
brown ideas for what to do wif 'em.) |

Day-before
Interview ... "Goddamn... Why am I even talking to you?" October 22, 1996, over the phone to
his hotel room in Detroit. The following night, Ween came to Toronto's Phoenix Concert
Theatre for one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Here's the interview and photos
from that night. The interview spawned this article
from my old zine, Cygnals. For those who're wondering, no, there is no transcript. Wanna
do one? I'll put it up. |
Interview with Gene Ween |
| The dude from theboognish.com
has put together a Ween tribute album on Crimson
Rain Records. I'm on there as Big Ass Superstar, performing Big Jilm.
Check it out, it's only $3. It's kinda get-what-you-pay-for, but there are
some real gems on there. |
 |
| Big
Ass Superstar has a new album coming soon with some more Ween covers.
You can now download tracks from the first album, Serotonin,
which includes takes on Piss Up A Rope, Stallion Pt 3, She Fucks Me,
Sarah, Push Th' Little Daisies, the aforementioned Big Jilm and more. I'm not
sure if I've got pricing details up in the BigAssSuperStore, but you can email
me for the dealio. |
